California Proposition 65: Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986
The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65, mandates businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Prowa Medical Instruments USA LLC adheres to Proposition 65 requirements to ensure that our products, including stainless steel items, comply with this law.
Proposition 65 aims to protect California residents by requiring disclosure of chemicals listed by the state that may pose health risks. The list of these chemicals is updated regularly by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).
WARNING: These products can expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Proposition 65 Warnings: If any of our products were to contain Proposition 65-listed chemicals in amounts exceeding safe harbor levels, they would be required to display a warning label. However, based on our rigorous testing and compliance checks, none of our products require such warnings.
For more information about Proposition 65 and the list of chemicals, visit the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) website at OEHHA Proposition 65 List.

Passivation Process: To further enhance the corrosion resistance of our stainless steel products, we, at Prowa Medical Instruments USA LLC, use a passivation process that creates a protective oxide layer on the surface. This process is guided by ASTM A967/A967M-21 (Standard Specification for Chemical Passivation Treatments for Stainless Steel).
Product Compliance and Stainless Steel Grades: Our products are manufactured using high-quality stainless steel grades, known for their durability and resistance to corrosion. The stainless steel grades used in our products utilizes and are made from 304 Stainless Steel (18% chromium, 8% nickel) and 316 Stainless Steel (16% chromium, 10% nickel, 2% molybdenum) and 410 Stainless Steel (11.5% chromium) and 420 Stainless Steel (12-14% chromium), and 201 Stainless Steel (16-18% chromium, 3.5-5.5% nickel) and 202 Stainless Steel (17-19% chromium, 4-6% nickel).
These grades are tested to ensure they do not contain Proposition 65-listed chemicals at levels requiring a warning.
